Eight cottages located in central Cranberry.

Housing within the community.

Located on Cranberry Street, across from DA Evans Park, this development consists of eight, one-bedroom cottages with a small porch. There is no wheelchair access.  The majority of tenants are single individuals and some are very long-term. The cottages were built for retirement housing in around 1950, and were formerly owned and operated by the local Moose Society.  Life Cycle purchased land and buildings from the Moose in 2009.  Tenants in need of rent subsidies may be eligible for assistance through BC Housing’s Rental Assistance Program (RAP) or Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters (SAFER) Programs.

Redevelopment opportunity.

Life Cycle has applied to BC Housing for funding and additional land to redevelop the property with new buildings that could provide 24 new homes for families and seniors.  The project is still in the planning phase, but we are hopeful.
